Robyn's Barn is ideally situated in the North of the Lake District National Park, only 10 minutes drive from Keswick with its wealth of shops, pubs cafes and parks. Ullswater is 10 minutes by car, known as the most romantic lake in the Lake District with many unspoilt villages dotted around its shoreline. With stunning views of Blencathra, Clough Head, The Dodds, Great Mell Fell and the sweeping valley towards Grassmore, it's a great base whether you are a walker, cyclist or prefer to relax taking in the scenery.
The C2C cycle route passes by the end of the lane and the 8 miles into Keswick can be done completely on cycle friendly roads including the fabulous 4 mile stretch of the old railway line. Mountain bikers love the old coach road route skimming beneath Clough Head towards the St John's in the Vale valley or the slightly more challenging route taking in Lonscale Fell. Cycle hire and route maps can be supplied along with local knowledge from Adrian, an experienced cyclist.
Blencathra is undoubtably one of the finest fells in the Lake District, and we consider ourselves very fortunate to have it just outside.
Beside the pretty market town of Keswick, with its abundance of shops and cafes, the beautiful Derwent Water.
